Switching Made Simple — business energy comparison

Terms and conditions

These terms govern your use of this website and the broking service provided by Switching Made Simple Ltd, company number [COMPANY_NUMBER], registered office [REGISTERED_ADDRESS].

1. What we do and what we do not do

We are a third-party intermediary — an energy broker. We compare business gas and business electricity contracts, present options and arrange the contract you select with the supplier. We are not an energy supplier. We do not generate, supply, meter or bill for energy, and we are not a party to the supply contract you enter into with a supplier.

2. Our service is for businesses

We provide services to businesses only, in the course of their business. We do not arrange domestic or household energy supply. Business energy contracts generally carry no statutory cooling-off period, and you should read any contract carefully before signing it.

3. Quotes

Quotes are provided by suppliers on the basis of the information you give us, and are indicative until accepted and credit-approved by the supplier. Because they are built on live wholesale prices, quotes are typically valid only for a short period — often until the end of the working day on which they are issued. Accuracy depends on the information you provide: if your usage, meter details or contract end date are wrong, the price may change.

4. Your obligations

  • Give us accurate and complete information about your business and your supply.
  • Confirm that you are authorised to enter into energy contracts on behalf of the business.
  • Tell us promptly if your circumstances, premises or usage change materially.
  • Read the supplier's contract terms before signing them.

5. Letters of authority

You may be asked to sign a letter of authority allowing us to obtain information about your supply from your current supplier. A letter of authority does not permit us to switch your supply or enter into a contract on your behalf, and it can be withdrawn at any time by writing to us.

6. Liability

We will provide our service with reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for the acts or omissions of any supplier, for the terms of any supply contract you enter into, for changes in wholesale prices, or for third-party charges such as network and metering costs. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit and loss of business opportunity. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

7. Website use

The content of this website is provided for general information about business gas and business electricity and does not constitute financial or legal advice. All content, branding and layout is owned by us or licensed to us and may not be reproduced without permission. We may change or withdraw content without notice, and we do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error free.

8. Complaints

Our complaints procedure sets out how to raise a concern and how to escalate it if you are not satisfied.

9. Data protection

We handle personal data in accordance with our privacy policy.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
