How business electricity pricing actually works
Your bill is made up of two main parts. The unit rate is what you pay for each kilowatt hour you use, and the standing charge is a fixed daily amount you pay whether the lights are on or not. On top of that sit non-commodity costs such as network charges, which vary by region and are largely outside any supplier's control.
Because suppliers quote against live wholesale prices, a business electricity quote is usually only valid for a short window — often the same working day. That is why we gather your details once, then go to market in a single pass rather than drip-feeding enquiries out over several weeks.

We handle single-rate and Economy 7 profile meters, half-hourly (HH) supplies, smart and AMR meters, and multi-site portfolios where every site has a different end date. If you have a maximum demand meter or a supply with capacity charges, send us a recent bill and we will read the details off it rather than asking you to interpret them.
What we need from you
The fastest route is a copy of a recent electricity bill. Failing that, we need your business name and address, your MPAN (the long number in the boxes on your bill), your annual consumption in kWh, and your current contract end date. If you do not know your end date, we can check it for you with your permission.

Business electricity: your questions
Can I switch business electricity supplier mid-contract?
Almost never. Business electricity contracts are legally binding for their full term and there is no cooling-off period for most businesses. What you can do is agree new rates in advance — most suppliers let you lock in a future contract up to twelve months before your current one ends.
How long does a business electricity switch take?
Typically two to four weeks from signed contract to live supply, and the switch happens on your contract end date. There is no interruption to your electricity — the wires and the meter stay exactly as they are; only the billing relationship changes.
What happens if I do nothing when my contract ends?
You are moved onto out-of-contract or deemed rates, which are set by the supplier and are usually considerably higher than a negotiated contract rate. This is the single most expensive thing a business can do with its electricity supply.
