Switching Made Simple — business energy comparison

Business gas & electricity only

Business energy, without the runaround

Tell us about your gas or electricity supply once. We go to market on your behalf, explain the options in plain English and handle the switch — free to you, with no obligation.

No cold-calling, no pressure tactics, no cost to your business.

What we need to price your supply

A recent bill covers all of it. Without one, these five details are enough to start.

    1Business name and supply address
2Meter number — MPAN for electricity, MPRN for gas
    3Approximate annual usage in kWh
    4Current supplier
5Contract end date, if you know it

Business energy suppliers we compare

We request live business gas and electricity prices from established UK suppliers, then show you the options side by side.

How it works

Step 1

Tell us about your supply

Two minutes: your business, your meter details and roughly what you use. A recent bill makes it faster, but it is not essential.

Step 2

We go to market

We request live prices from the suppliers who will genuinely compete for a business like yours, on the day you ask.

Step 3

You choose, we handle it

We explain the options in plain English. You pick one, we arrange the paperwork and the switch, and we remind you before it ends.

Our promise

The energy broking sector has earned a certain amount of distrust. These are the six things we hold ourselves to, and you should hold us to them too.

Transparent commission

You see what we are paid before you sign. No hidden uplift, no surprises buried in the unit rate.

Priced on your real usage

We quote against your actual meter number and annual consumption, so the figure you see is the figure you can sign.

Renewal reminders

We track your contract end dates and contact you in good time, so nothing rolls over onto out-of-contract rates.

No supplier favouritism

We are independent of every supplier on our panel. The recommendation follows the numbers, not the commission.

Plain English contracts

Unit rate, standing charge, term length and conditions explained side by side before you commit to anything.

Green options, honestly explained

REGO-backed renewable electricity compared against the standard equivalent, with the certification stated rather than implied.

Why business energy needs comparing

There is no published price list for business energy. Every quote is generated on request and priced to your usage profile, contract length, region and credit standing. Two identical shops on the same street can pay materially different unit rates for the same supply, simply because of when and how they last agreed a contract.

That means comparison is not a matter of reading a table — it is a matter of going to market on the day, with your real numbers. That is the whole job.

  • Business contracts have no cooling-off period for most companies — checking before you sign is the only protection
  • Contracts that lapse move to out-of-contract rates set by the supplier, usually their highest
  • Quotes are built on live wholesale prices and often expire the same working day
  • You can lock in a future contract up to twelve months before your current one ends
  • Renewing with your existing supplier is sometimes the best outcome — we will say so

Who we help

Most of our work is with single-site small businesses and small multi-site operators — companies where nobody's job title includes energy procurement.

  • Cafés, coffee shops and independent restaurants
  • Hair and beauty salons
  • Independent retail and convenience stores
  • Workshops, garages and light industrial units
  • Small offices and professional practices
  • Guest houses, pubs and small hotels
  • Farm shops and rural businesses
  • Small warehouses and storage units
  • Multi-site operators with staggered end dates

Two products, priced properly

Business electricity

Single-rate, Economy 7, half-hourly and multi-site supplies. We read your MPAN and usage profile off your bill rather than asking you to interpret it.

Business gas

Fewer suppliers actively quote business gas, which makes comparison more valuable, not less. We quote the right panel for your consumption band.

Green business energy, without the spin

Renewable business electricity is a real product backed by REGO certificates, and on some supplier panels it prices level with the standard equivalent. We show both, state the certification percentage rather than implying it, and let you decide.

  • REGO-backed renewable electricity from UK suppliers
  • Certification percentage stated clearly
  • Standard and renewable tariffs priced side by side
  • Documentation for your own carbon reporting

Frequently asked questions

What does Switching Made Simple actually do?

We are a business energy broker. You give us your meter details and usage once, we request live prices from suppliers who will compete for a business like yours, and we present the options in plain English. If you choose one, we handle the paperwork and the switch, then remind you before the contract ends.

How much does it cost me?

Nothing directly. When you take a contract we have arranged, the supplier pays us a commission which is included in the unit rate you are quoted. We tell you the amount before you sign, and you are free to walk away at any point.

Do you only cover gas and electricity?

Yes. Business gas and business electricity, including renewable electricity tariffs. We deliberately do not broker anything else, because doing one thing properly beats doing six things adequately.

Can you help if I am mid-contract?

Yes. Business energy contracts cannot usually be broken early, but you can agree new rates in advance — often up to twelve months before your end date. We will record your end date and come back to you at the right moment.

Which suppliers do you compare?

We work across the UK business energy market and are not owned by, or tied to, any supplier. Which suppliers will price your supply depends on your usage band, meter type, region and credit profile, and we tell you who quoted.

Will I have an interruption to my supply when I switch?

No. The meter, the pipes and the wires all stay exactly as they are. Only the billing relationship changes, and it changes on your contract end date.

Ready to see what your business energy should cost?

Two minutes to tell us about your supply. Whole-of-market quotes, no obligation, no pressure.
